How will Mum know the alarm has connected if she cannot see the screen?

The pendant or watch vibrates firmly and tells her “Help on the way.” A member of our UK-based team then talks to her through the built-in speaker. She hears every step.

Is the SOS button easy to find by touch?

Yes. The pendant has a raised pad on the front. The watch uses a single raised button on the side. One sweep of a thumb locates it, even with gloves.

What happens if she cannot describe where she is?

The alarm’s GPS sends her street name to our monitoring centre. We pass that information to you, or to the emergency services if you cannot be reached.

Does it still work at night or indoors?

Yes. The vibration and spoken prompts work the same at any hour. Indoor GPS can be less precise, so we give the nearest street reference or last outdoor fix.

How long does the battery last and how will she know it is low?

The pendant battery lasts two to three days; the watch lasts about twenty-four hours. Both devices announce “Battery low” and we phone you if the level drops below 20%.

Do we need Wi-Fi or a landline?

No. The alarm contains its own SIM card and works anywhere in the UK with mobile coverage.

Will someone still come if no one answers the call?

If our operator cannot speak to Mum, we follow your agreed plan: first we call you and your contacts; if no one is available, we alert the emergency services and give them her location.

When can I expect my order to be delivered?

Once your order is paid for and we have received your emergency contact information, your device will be delivered using Royal Mail Tracked24 providing 24hr delivery and is tracked all the way to you.

What if I change my mind after ordering?

You have a 60-day window to return your equipment at no cost, during which we will provide a full refund for your order. We kindly request that you arrange for the return of all the equipment to us with the original packaging via a tracked postal service. HelpAlert reserves the right to charge a postage fee of up to £10 for the return of any devices.

How do I provide you with details of my emergency contacts?

Once you place your order, we’ll send you a welcome email with a link to our emergency contact form. This form allows you to provide important details like the user’s medical history, medications, and emergency contact information. This ensures we can offer the best possible assistance during an emergency. After we receive this information, we’ll program your device and dispatch it with next-day delivery.
